The Messy Room In This Girl's Selfie Took Twitter By Storm. But We've All Been There, Right?
We've seen selfies go wonky before. Sometimes embarrassing things creep up in the background when we try to show of our latest haircut or outfit. Something (sortof) similar happened to "Alyssa" (aka @og_pocahontas) when she put this picture out into the world.
Okay, nice dress, well done but once we get below the elbows, that's where people found reason to pounce. It's not much of an exaggeration to say that the room the selfie was taken in is a mess. There are clothes, make-up, food, and more littering the ground.
So the question is, is this an out of control situation or just a girl who takes up a lot of space when it's time to get ready?
Most of the outspoken voices on Twitter see it as the former:
Some people have turned it into one of those I Spy books, trying to find the most absurd things they could in the picture. Among my personal favorites is the person who is pretty sure they see is a waffle iron.
I'm more inclined to think it's a purse but I'm not feeling confident enough to put money down on that fact. 9am beside waffles sounds like a terrific idea to me.
Another keen-eyed viewer saw a bag and took a guess at its contents.
More than likely, these are rhinestones, not nickels, as the cropped picture's first responded pointed out.
Others took the opportunity to point out that her nude-colored shoes probably weren't the right fit for her black outfit. They even offered to help by pointing out a better-suited pair in the chaos of the room.
One thing that there's very little doubt about is the snack sitting in front of her beside table.
And you know what? If this was my room, you probably wouldn't even see the graham cracker or marshmallows. Why? Because they'd already be in my mouth.
The most hotly contested hidden thing in the picture is below. I'll let you look before you decide what it is.
If this is what Twitter seems to think it is, it's hard to argue for the "just a bit of a mess while I'm getting ready" camp when there's a rat hanging out, possibly waiting for its own crack at the S'mores.
Thankfully, some people have come along to help @og_pocahontas out.
While others came to her defense a little less sarcastically.
It deserves to be mentioned that "Alyssa" seems to be taking all of this in stride. Instead of deleting the tweets, she's using her 15 minutes of internet fame to repost some of her favorite pictures, promote some of her favorite music, and to let people know how she really feels about Donald Trump.
So where do you all land? Is this a case of organized chaos to help put together the perfect outfit for the perfect evening or does the photo have you itching to get home and clean your room from top to bottom? Be sure to sound off in the comments on Facebook.
