11 Million Things Every Girl Knows She Needs When Travelling

And some more.

5. Preparation for all scenarios in any weather you can think of

I touched on this subject above. Having an outfit for each day is not as simple as it seems. They all need to cross-match so that you're able to create new outfits on the spot. You scarf needs to be able to become a dress if needed, and your swimsuit will double as lingerie or a piece of regular clothing. "Multifunctionality" is what you're looking for from your clothes. Your tops need to be long enough to be dresses and your leggings need not be see-through so they can double as pants.

6. All your makeup

How is it even going to happen? As oppose to toiletries, makeup is usually in pretty small tubes and bottles but there are so many of them! When you pack your makeup you feel like your life story should be called "Fifty Shades of Everything." There is truly no way to decide between twenty shades of red lipstick. Which one is going to be left behind? You need everything, plus you need to remember all the duty-free deals so there needs to be space for more!

7. Books that you aren't going to read

You need books for when your phone battery is down, for when you cannot use your wifi, for when you're alone by the pool for even five minutes. There is nothing worse than appearing like you're doing absolutely nothing alone just in case some random person thinks that they can invade your space or (even worse) they'll look at you with pity because they think you're alone!

8. Swimsuits (even if it's not a beach holiday)

Let's face it, if there is no chance of using your swimsuit at least once then it's not a real holiday. There are pools at the hotel, there are spa services, saunas - a lot of opportunities to slip into this glorious piece of clothing that has been sitting in your closet all winter.

Coming up next: sure you need more stuff than this? Yes!
